A “Mustang Round-Up” of good things from your Chugiak Yearbook Staff!

January was crazy busy with so many good things! February shows no signs of slowing down. Big events coming up is State Hockey today through this weekend, more basketball, State Championships for DDFFeb 17-19, the Musical Feb 24-26, Youth Art Month coming up in March, and of course three four-day weeks in a row leading to Spring Break! Pencil in your calendars and then read on to see all the things you may have missed the last six weeks.

MINI MUSTANGS: In early January, Chugiak Hoops hosted a Mini Mustangs basketball camp which featured performances from the kids at halftime of the Girls v. Service game. Photos by Hailey, Rowan, Jay, and Suella.

RED OUT SPIRIT WEEK: Lots of RED was worn and bragging rights secured.

HOW TO SAVE A LIFE: Mrs. Alex’s classes dissected sheep and moose hearts and practiced phlebotomy on super high-tech prop arms in early January.

MINI MUSTANGS CHEER: Basketball Cheer hosted a Mini Mustangs Cheer camp with a halftime show in late January. Photos by Abby.

READY FOR STATE: DDF completed their last two season Tournaments at Bartlett and Dimond. They are prepping for State Championships at East High next Thursday. If you want to support the team, you can buy some limited edition stickers and pins and wear them Thursday.

POTTERY CLUB BEGINS: Pottery club started meeting again Wednesdays after school. Teachers are welcome to come by and say hello. Photos by Hailey and Rowan.

WE ARE CHUGIAK: Tuesday’s games versus Bartlett resulted in two tough losses, but the boys’ game stayed competitive right to the end. Cheer and Pep Band contributed to the spirit, and some teachers were even spotted grading papers in the back row. Photos by Hailey and Camryn
